Looking for a new bag? We got you! Handmade bags by AZIBI
What inspired you to become a bag designer?
To answer that question we have to go back to my childhood. As a child I dreamed about having
my own brand. I am a child of the nineties and I remember that we used to make bracelets from
beads and sell them on the street. Even then I liked that idea, so nothing happens without a
reason. I always liked to make something with my own hands. I first started making pearl
haedbands, and then by chance I saw Russian women making these bags on Youtube and tried
to make them myself. I saw that I could do it and that's how it all started.
How do you approach the design process for creating a new bag?
Maybe it sounds unreal, but when I start making a new bag, I don't have in my head how it
should look. I just start making the base and the idea comes to me in the moment. It's just that not
all beads are the same size and color, so each bag is a story in itself. I'm really trying to be
unique and recognizable and I hope I'm on the right track.

What are some current trends in bag design that you find interesting or inspiring?
The current bag trends are definitely small bags. It will never go out of fashion. But certainly the
trend for 2023 is beaded bags. For example, the bag that inspired me to make it is Balenciaga's
chain bag with a curved base. Anyone who follows fashion at all will know which bag we are
talking about.

Are there any specific challenges you face as a bag designer, and how do you overcome
them?
As I mentioned before, I try to be as unique as possible. In today's time, everything really exists
and it is difficult to invent something of your own. But again, I'm trying to leave some mark in my
work and I think I'm really succeeding in that. That's the only obstacle I'm facing, I'd say.

What is your favorite bag design you have created so far and what makes it special for you?
I think this is the hardest question for me. Each bag really means something to me and each
one has its own story. If I had to choose my favorite bag design, I would say the feather bag,
because believe it or not, it was the hardest to work with. The more complicated, the more
challenging it is for me. And I like challenges. I haven't released it yet, but it will be released
soon.

How do you stay up to date with the latest fashion and design trends in the bag industry?
I don't want to sound harsh, but does not mean that everything that is trendy is good. I find
inspiration in traveling, that's how the name of the brand came about. AZIBI means IBIZA
backwards. And since Instagram is the biggest fashion platform, the inspiration itself comes
from there and of course from Vogue magazine.
