New Collection by Laura Lazar-A Journey Through the Work of a Visionary Designer
Who is Laura Lazar?
All my loved ones always say about me that I’m a rebel. Even since I was a kid. So I embraced this and create a world of my own, I live it everyday and I put it in my designs. Without thinking became my way to create. As I love to say I create a #RockAndRoyal world. Because my designs reflects my way of living, my soul.
What inspired this collection?
I will forever take my inspiration from the music I love, rock music. Music has always been an important part of my life, my escape from the world. It connects me with my feelings and helps me to express them through fashion. For me is impossible to envision a world where music and fashion do not complete a whole.
Fashion, much like music, has always been used as a way of self-expression and both are also emotional and obtainable forms of art that the masses can enjoy and partake in.
The relationship between fashion and rock’n’roll is one of abundant and mutual creativity and a constant influence for me.
What was the biggest challenge in creating this collection?
You may think I will start to write about every designer’s challenge, of course time would be the focus, but my biggest one was the fact that I wanted to let my voice be heard.
When I started to design this collection I felt the need to speak out loud what I believe in. We are living hard times and I truly believe we all have to try our best to create a better world.
I realized we all have a voice and we should learn to use it more often. So I tried to write few words as a message from my hearts to others.

Even if it was for few seconds. Exactly at the end of the show. I just hope my message will reach more souls and together we can design a world of love&freedom.
What materials do you preffer when creating a piece?
For me it is all about unexpected details, playing with fabrics and accessories. Just love to add some sparkle on a sea of black. Reinventing the glam of the rockstars as I dream of. One of my firsts love was tulle and everytime I try to go futher with this fabric. This time it was a silver liquid tulle dress. I simply adore all the shiny glamorous textures, leather, or the perfect cotton. I think for me is more about the perfect touch on the flawless black. That touch that you almost feel it screams my brand.
What is your favorite piese in the collection?
Every piece and every collection have a story and a little part of my soul, so it would be impossible to choose. Now that I see them worn, I think with every new styling I discover further ways to be more in love with these pieces.
One thing I truly love about this collection is that I tried to show that a big part of my designs are genderless. For the first time I had a man wearing a dress on the catwalk and I loved it.
What are the current fashion trends that influenced this collection?
I don’t follow fashion trends when I design. As I said before, music is my main inspiration and I love the late ’70s & early ’80s fashion, so when I start a new collection I just let myself dive deep into my mind and soul and find there all the resources I need. With every collection I add a page to the rock and roll story that I build and constantly refine from season to season.
But I start to like to play with my designs in different styling and so I can find more and contrasting ways to show my pieces in current trends.
